TELL US WHAT YOU REALLY THINK, MATT

As a grandfather of several young'uns I would say - more like 2 or 3 than 6. But then I am a "classical liberal" and I voted for Ronnie several times both for Gov and Pres. Would do it all again if given the chance.

I also am fond of Locke; as were both Jefferson and Hamilton even though they had one of the dirtiest elections ever 208 years ago. Each smearing the other ala the Huckster.

OBAMA PRAISES REAGAN AS "SINGULAR FIGURE"

He sounds confident to me. Once he's the Dem Pesidential candidate he wants all the Ronnie Dems who are mad at the progressive/left leaning Bush clan on his team. Seems to me he thinks he has SC in the bag; as well as Nevada.

ALL ABOARD THE HUCKABOOB TRAIN WRECK!

In 76 I voted for a Southern Baptist gov. who also wanted to do away with the IRS (he wanted to replace it with a 12% flat tax - "Do your return on a 3 line post card"). I will never make that mistake again. IF Huck is the man I will go back tothe party that "left me" - Hillary.

THOMPSON GOES "ALL IN" FOR IOWA CAUCUSES

I hope Fred is a very strong third. I share yor opnion of the Huckster. If he is "the man" the GOP will get crushed; and we will deserved to be crushed.
IMHO Fred is the only man to seriously address the major isssues of the 21st century with well articulated ideas. Some of his plans will ge painfull. But if we do not attack these problems(ie. Soc Sec) the end result will be much worse than a little pain. Which is why (IMHO)Hill, Rudy, Mitt, Obama, et. al. are ducking them.

THE INFANTILIZATION OF AMERICAN POLITICS

I have resented being treated by the left in *BOTH* parties as if I were a 3 year old for 30 years. Which is why I voted for Ronnie about 8 times - including a couple when I was still a Dem!

The 2 parties have adopted the attitude towards the American citizen that was well put by Jack in the movie about 15 years ago " You cant handle the truth!".

My response for 30 years has been "try me!" Ronnie did and that's why he got my vote and I never regretted it. Compared to many other votes it regretted - the winners in 1976, 1988, 2004 - to mention a few. Note that I did say I was a Dem the 1976 vote was not an accident(in my mind) at the time. I regretted it by the end of 1977.

CHILDREN'S ANTI-CLASSIC MOVIES ON THE WAY

My wife and I are planning to see "Enchanted" next week. We are both past 60 so we may not count; but I liked the old Disney very much. I have a 58 or 59 year old record "Album" ( they were really books with pictures and several records back then) of Song of The South. I still think its great as well as Johnny Mercer and Walt!

I have enjoyed the trip for over 2 years; and expect to enjoy it for many more! I frequently disagre with your opinion - but you are usually informative and almost never boring.

TOUGH HILL TO CLIMB FOR MY BELOVEDS

Had the Bears been better coached they would have won. 5 sand lot plays cost them the game. Stupid! But I am glad as I live in the West.
If your Bears do not stop making bonehed plays they will not make the playoffs. Or maybe the Boltz are much better than I think. Way too early to tell about the Boltz but the Bears have demonstrated their lack of coaching for 2 years. Brian can *not* do it all himself.

Bolts win but not by that much. Bears have the best linebcker in football. Chargers coach had the Raiders in *last place* for 17 weeks *2 years in a row*. With Marty in Sep you would be right; but in Jan you would have been backwards. Marty was great before the payoffs. Turner?@! I hope the Chargers did not make a big mistake. But his record as a head coach for 4 years with 2 teams is bad!
If the Bears do as poorly as you say then the Bears are bad. Rex and the coach are bad but they are not that bad!
Chargers 24 - 21.
